Melanie Beynon has completed Mirosuna, a meditation space project based in Melbourne. Originally, the owner Sally Kellet wanted to create Mirosuna with the vision of creating a space for deep relaxation and fostering physical, mental and emotional health. To achieve this vision, Sally Kellet sought a designer who embodies her belief that good design can be used to innovate and integrate building materials and technologies for the benefit of humanity.
This meditation space is a large environmental volume that reflects the building's natural sloping form. The front of the room is a narrow focus, showing natural light and hinting at the outside world. The studio's design for Mirosuna incorporates warm colors, tactile aesthetics and four key sensory space principles. Acoustics, visual environment, touch and climate.
