A home refurbished by Nice Projects for Fora Space in the Henrywood Building in central London (1964). In early 2024, central London will welcome Fora Space’s brand new 70,000 sq ft renovation of an iconic brutalist landmark, with all new interiors designed by Nice Projects. Featuring beautiful, carefully sourced materials and packed with details to catch even the most discerning eye, the interiors are a sophisticated love letter to the very best British design of the sixties; a wry homage that, crucially, also feels innovative, contemporary and original.
A bold, future-facing direction for office and co-working spaces, this exciting new iteration of Henry Wood House combines Fora’s vision and experience with the intelligent, considered and artful interiors of Nice Projects. The result is a worthy, prestigious addition to W1 likely to attract vibrant, creative tenants looking for work spaces with a sense of permanence, performance and playfulness they can be proud of.
Henry Wood House, a sprawling, seven-story building constructed in 1964 to house a hotel and the BBC’s Research and Development teams, sits between London’s Mayfair and Fitzrovia. Although stripped over the years of its original character and features, its exterior epitomizes the classic British 1960s post-war office block. It stands proudly at the very epicentre of central London; a dynamic intersection of cultures and commerce, minutes from Soho and Regent Street.
The design was overseen by Nice Projects co-founders, Simone McEwan and Sacha Leong.‘We took cues from iconic British artists and designers from the 60s’ says Leong. ‘The materials, colour palette and detailing celebrate the heritage of the building without straying into pastiche, resulting in a timeless sense of style and playfulness.’Nice Projects’ design for Henry Wood House celebrates holistic, thoughtful spaces packed with bright, beautiful details and strategically deployed materials and techniques that inspire and delight, lovingly created by a studio best known for luxury hospitality design and for employing absolute best practice in everything they do.
