Six Senses The Palm has launched in Palm Jumeriah, Dubai, the most renowned city in the United Arab Emirates. The development, which is branded Six Senses and stretches along a private beach on Palm Jumeirah’s West Crescent, consists of a hotel with 60 rooms and 162 ultra-luxury residences, which includes 121 penthouses, 32 sky villas and nine beachfront villas. 

The project has partnered with Six Senses Hotels Resorts Spas, global property developer Select Group, and Emirates Strategic Investments Company. Construction started at the beginning of 2022 and aims to be completed in 2024. 

SAOTA, a South African-based world-renowned architecture studio, completed the design concept of the development, SAOTA Principal Greg Truen, takes lead on this project, and Mitchell & Eades conceptualised the interior design. 

The design concept inspired by coral, a unique and integral part of the UAE’s aquatic ecosystem. The architectural narrative explores the deep link between coral and natural organisms and the Emirates on a cultural, historical and architectural level. 

The cellular facades dominate the architecture and mimic the structure of coral, which are essentially balconies that provide shade for internal and external spaces, which is a crucial environmental response.
