'Life Positive Studio' is the first flagship store of the athleisure brand 'Andar.' In general, a fashion brand's showroom has its sole purpose to make the brand stand out the most, rather than the context of the surrounding area. T-FP, however, started the project by redefining the value of the brand and the meaning of space.
The existing image of 'Andar', a fast-growing brand based online, was strictly attributed to the product. Through this project, T-FP wanted to extend the concept of loving one's body as it is (Body Positive) to deliver a brand message that affirms our daily life (Life Positive).
In particular, Samcheong-dong and Bukchon, where the buildings are located, are regions with rich Korean sentiment and culture, so T-FP tried to fully capture the characteristics of the region. They intended the architecture and space to give a neat and concise yet clear impression, and to interpret the Korean image in a modern way.
The building was wrapped in cedar and the surface was silicified to express a beautiful silver gray mass. T-FP wanted to reveal the peculiarity of cedar that will naturally turn gray over time. It is also a great attraction in itself, as there are no wood-finished buildings in the area. At the same time, studio tried to bring the landscape and nature of the neighborhood into the space.
Beyond the physical limits (small buildings) and conceptual limits (brand showroom), T-FP endeavored to create a space that embraces the characteristics of the region and presents the lifestyle that the brand aims for. In addition, this project is more meaningful because it contains not only the space but also the brand's orientation by various programs: running and yoga sessions with beautiful scenery, a tea room, and a private selfie zone, etc.
