The owner of furniture business Homebody and Monde, who lived in a number of nearby properties in the 60s and 70s, couldn't resist moving into the former office of prolific architect Alistair Knox in the latest rental market. The 1962-63 heritage-listed bluestone office and its accompanying mud-brick house ended up being historic as Knox's purpose-built home and studio. Knox was a pioneer known for creating uniquely "Australian" architectural styles, characterized by low flat roof lines, natural materials and finishes, mud brick walls, and brick or slate floors.
