Fredrikson Stallard is a London based art and design practice founded in 2005 by Patrik Fredrikson (Swedish, born 1968) and Ian Stallard (British, born 1973). Breaking onto the scene with their iconic sculpture and furniture, they have become synonymous with contemporary British art and collectible design. Their award-winning work is recognised for its ability to create emotionally engaging works and immersive installations, uniting and mastering the platforms of art and design.

The studio’s designs, which aim to transcend basic questions of form and function, are both simple and highly conceptual—a glass table, for example, may contain a metal sheet within. While their work is technically rigorous and precise,“you still get the sense,”as the duo puts it, “that the metal is doing what it wants.”Fredrikson Stallard create works that thrive on the sense of energy, chaos, destruction and recreation, to allow us to experience the world in new ways, and to see it differently. Fredrikson Stallard has exhibited widely with both solo and group exhibitions internationally. Their cutting edge, conceptually rigorous work has been regularly discussed and praised in the art and design press and is sought after by international collectors, institutions and galleries. They have been the recipient of many prestigious art and design awards and hold a fellowship of The Arts Foundation. Their comprehensive monograph“Works”was published by Skira in 2019.
