The CL house, situated on a 6500 m2 plot in Sao Paulo State Countryside. KST’s design began with a challenge: designing a unique home that stands out from the surrounding built enviroment, on a challenging topography. Initial studies for the roofs considered several options, including gable roofs and four-meter eaves.

The house’s layout follows the land’s slope, exposing the entire length of the social pavilion to the setting sun, which necessitated some form of protection. The solution came in the form of a flat roof with horizontal brise- soleils. These not only provide effective protection from the setting sun but also create a mid-century American residential atmosphere.

Two parallel pavilions, an intimate one measuring 35 x 9.5meters, and a social one measuring 50 x 8.5 meters, organize the home’s layout. The entrance features a 40 m2 hall, combined with an internal garden.

In the east-facing pavilion, there are 4 guest suites, a suite for small children, and a master suite. The west-facing pavilion includes a mudroom, offices, a service core with a laundry and kitchen, and centralized technical areas connected to a service terrace.

A wine cellar, pantry, and an open kitchen connected to a gourmet kitchen link both the outdoor area, which features a 130 m2 pool, and the end of the social pavilion, which includes a home theater and a kids room.

The basement features a garage for cars and golf carts, a technical area, a bicycle storage area, and a service core with an access ramp to the gym and tennis court.
