With a privileged location on top of a hill near Alicante, this house becomes the desire of a young couple.Aware of the potential they have before them, their approach to the project is clear: to recover the Mediterranean essence and the most characteristic architecture of the coast of Alicante, without losing sight of the contemporary lines of modern architecture.

The project design by NOS Arquitectura is developed working with those intrinsic aspects of the autochthonous architecture. Curved geometries, lime coatings and natural materials.Landscaping plays an essential role in the feeling of immersion in nature offered by the project, which is worked from the respect for the native landscape and designed with fruit trees and shrubs to compose outdoor spaces and strategically hide those neighboring buildings that may alter the desired perception of isolation.

With the panoramic view of the Mediterranean, the house is restructured with a simple strategy that consists of turning the main areas of the house to this landscape. This way, respecting the original geometry of the house, the project completely changes the interior layout, opening up the original spaces, which were too fragmented, and adapting them to the current needs of the owners, exploiting their connection with the exterior.

The first floor is conceived as an open space that houses the living and kitchen uses, being linked to several outdoor spaces that, depending on the time of day, become more relevant. Similarly, on the second floor is located the master bedroom, that opens out three of its facades to this view of the sea.

In an almost accidental way, through a diversion in the perimeter wall, we enter the garden surrounding the house. Upon accessing the plot, a large steel pivoting door appears in the center of the rear facade, which seeks to magnify the act of arriving home, generating a main axis that marks a certain transverse symmetry in the project. In this way, right from the entrance it is possible to discover the spectacular views of the Mediterranean that the house holds.

As for the materiality, we work with neutral tones and noble materials. The microcement used in the interior, which covers walls, floor and ceiling, blends in with the limewashed facade, bathing all the spaces and creating continuity in the project. Natural oak wood is used in the interior carpentry and kitchen furniture, as well as in the upper level flooring, where the night area is located, in order to create a cozier and warmer environment. Finally, natural stone is used to accentuate the forcefulness of the kitchen island and bathroom sinks, which are treated almost as scupltural pieces.
