Mexican artist Omar Barquet, born 1979,Omar Barquet holds a degree in Fine Arts from “La Esmeralda”, the National School of Painting, Sculpture and Printmaking in Mexico City, where he has lived and worked since 2000. Omar Barquet’s works predominantly refers to space, time, landscape, sound, nature and memory investigating emotional and internal human chaos within.

The particularity of Omar Barquet work stems from his ability to understand the nature of space in a technical, analytical way which relates movement and repetition, visibility and invisibility. One of his major concerns is the adaptability of human to their material and sound environments. The notion of variation has accompanied Omar Barquet in recent years, he has explored it in these changes between media.

In his recent work, Omar Barquet has developed, in his own words, an approach to research that proposes various possibilities for perception and interaction between space, time, landscape, sound and memory. So he worked on different projects based on these concepts and then explored different processes of representation. The dynamics that Omar Barquet's work in practice and works address have shifted from material existence to intangible existence.
