Paul Bik is a Polish artist currently living in Milan. Trained as an interior designer, he is sensitive to composition and spatial forms and was fascinated by Italian modernist buildings, and his passion for their unique construction is reflected in his work. Paul Bik creates monochromatic, highly disciplined works that seduce with harmony and the degree of complexity of three-dimensional structures. 

The artist's minimalist works surprise with phenomenal order and tensions created by playing with lines, working with chiaroscuro. Paul Bik's works are created in a painstaking process of hand-cutting individual shapes from plywood, cardboard, dyed paper, precisely attaching them to each other in layers with glue, and then covering them with epoxy resin, classic oil paint or acrylic. 

Paul Bik aims for the essence of harmony - not by repetition of forms but bringing the unity to, often opposed, parts of his compositions. Light and shadows, casted by geometrical shapes, add another element to the decomposition, beyond artist’s control. Monochromatic and raw, the forms are far from cold. They allure with textures, giving a strong haptic, sensual impression. The compositions are always abstract. To Paul Bik, this is the most personal form of art, a reflection of the artist’s true self.
