Alvaro Siza

Alvaro Siza is a famous and important architect in the world. As early as 1992, he has won the Pulitzer Prize for architecture. Unlike other architects, his works always focus on the harmonious treatment of the correlation and heterogeneity between architectural elements, while most other people spend their time on the problem of architectural modeling and material texture.

The 75 year old architect, whose full name is Alvaro Joaquim de Melo Siza Vieria, is one of Portugal's most famous architects. He joined the gold medalist club, where he competed with Le Corbusier and Mies van der Rohe. Although cissa has yet to build a permanent building in the UK, the Pritzker Prize winner designed the temporary serpentine Pavilion in the summer of 2005.

Siza is most famous for his simple to extreme modern architecture, such as the serralves Museum of contemporary art in Porto, Portugal, the Church of Marco de canavezes and the Department of architecture of the University of Porto in 1993. At the beginning of this summer, he completed the Art Museum designed in Porto Alegre, Brazil. In addition to the Pritzker award, Siza also won the wolf Art Award in 2001 and the Alvar Aalto medal in 1988.
