Pitsou Kedem Architects was founded in 2000 and currently consists of a team of 11 architects. The studio undertakes a diverse range of projects with varying complexities, from interior design for restaurants, shops, and living spaces to private residential design.

In this master class, founder Pitsou Kedem shared their design philosophy and projects under the theme “X-Ray.” Since his student years, he has been fascinated by light and shadow in architecture. Their projects continue this exploration, analyzing each design from different perspectives. They demonstrate how careful material selection and attention to detail create dramatic lighting effects, emphasizing that the design process is the true essence of a project.

When discussing material selection, Pitsou Kedem explains that while materials are crucial, they follow the architectural concept first. Materials must harmonize with their environment, be practical for local conditions, and ensure longevity. In extreme climates like Israel, durability is essential. However, the priority is always the architectural vision, with materials chosen to support and enhance the intended design.
