Casa Rosabaya is located on the beachfront of Cosón beach in Las Terrenas, Dominican Republic. The clients requested a holiday home to also be used as a temporary stay for tourists, events and to be able to enjoy the landscape in a private way. It has a construction area of 1500 m2 divided into two levels. 10 secondary rooms and 2 main rooms with sea view and large integrated social areas open to the outside.

The project is developed with a defragmented and asymmetrical volumetry, united in its entirety by a large concrete roof with inverted beams. These unfragmented volumes always attend to the views and create small courtyards between one and the other, seeking maximum enjoyment of the interior with the vegetation. The general materiality of the project is characterised by the repeated use of local wood, grey cement and grey stucco.

Rosabaya allowed us to experiment with the different applications and finishes that can be achieved with cement and can be seen in all the bathroom and kitchen worktops, in the main staircase, in the interior and exterior floors, in the seating in the living room or even in the washbasins in the middle bathroom. This line of research and experimentation with local materials and workmanship is one of the most important focuses within our workshop.
