A unique rainbow church in the Czech Republic, designed by local architect Atelier Stepan. Originally conceived in the relaxed atmosphere of 1968, the church was finally realized 50 years later. The futuristic rainbow church will be built according to God's will. The church is located in the centre of Certova Rokle Ravine, an area covered with tall concrete apartment buildings. The new church could not compete with them in scale, which is why it was designed to be very simple in expression, basic in geometry, and therefore easy to identify.。
A rectangular plateau was placed on the land, defining the sacred area. There are three basic masses -- churches, towers, and spiritual centers. The original center is rectangular, the tower is triangular, and the church is circular, which means that all three basic geometric shapes are represented. This sacred area is built on a completely different scale, which separates it from the surrounding apartment blocks and creates dominance on a whole new level.
