Located in the suburb of Buenos Aires, this house consists of 5 concrete beams that are cleverly arranged in a north-south direction, in keeping with the quiet part of the building and the front. This structural condition allowed DRM Estudio to maximise the relationship between the building and the large green voidage at the rear, as well as the character of the site. The house is characterized by adjacent buildings with trees and original vegetation and plenty of sunlight. In the future there will be an aerobic path with landscaping and exercise advice.
On the upper level, two solid/stereo systems are placed on beams, realized with bricks, as one entity above the ethereal, heavy on the light, almost like a load diagram. On the one hand, the cube solves the problem of a private house, taking advantage of its solid condition, in an intrusive environment where such shelter is needed due to the proximity of other buildings. On the other hand, three vaults resolve the roof of the house's public Spaces and are the public and private supports for the extension. Using the vault, living on the roof, which is an enclosed terrace, adjusts the intimacy with the neighbors, adjusts the intimacy with the neighbors, takes advantage of the topography produced by the arched form.
On the ground floor, the beams present the spatial nature of the structure, their clear directionality and the size of their columns strategically locate with the smallest part disappearing, leading to a fusion with the landscape. The aim is to dilute the boundary between interior and exterior through a dematerialized shell. Inhabited by a spatial continuum between the vault and the patio, the interior and exterior work together without distinction to produce a large habitable vault gallery.
A home reflects an accommodation of a degree of privacy in response to the conditions implied by living in a community like Terralagos, both looking for integration with the landscape and an accommodation of the privacy of neighbors.
