In the forest of Knokke Zoute, surrounded by typical villas with their thatched roofs, a modernist residence is integrated and accentuated. The interior tells a tale of grandeur in an intimate way. Of the pleasure of inviting friends and family.
From the entrance hall, the house is opened up to the back yard and terrace through a strong architectural perspective. These perspectives are a common theme in the concept for this house. Strong sight lines define and connect the various living spaces. The soft interior palette, mainly consisting of plaster finishes, with bleached cherry and burned poplar accents, preserves the serene atmosphere of the house in its surroundings.
This gentle mood is complemented by the use of several bespoke furniture pieces. Where most of the living spaces are quite open, this kitchen is held intimate, making it an extra living space for the family.
