Kelly Behun designed the interior of this nearly 11,000-square-foot modern home for American musician couple Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz, which boasts stunning views of the Pacific Ocean. The home has been dubbed the "Land of Dreams." The cliffside home looks like a work of modern art and was designed by noted architect Wallace E. Cunningham. For the musician couple, this is a place to create dreams, as long as they are bold and wild enough, everything is imagined and realized.
During the design process of the project, the owner of the house was a hands-on collaborator for Kelly Behun. Because he lived in that house and breathed in that house; He knew every inch of the ground and he was very interested in what he wanted, so everything went well with the project.
Behun wanted to make the home more family-friendly and less like a "place a superhero would live." She brought warmth to the family's seats by introducing wood elements, Moroccan wool carpets and soft fabrics such as wool and cotton fleece. The palette was chosen to harmonize with the surrounding landscape -- golden sand, caramel brown, creamy dried fruit. This makes it never try to upstage the natural environment, architecture or art.
