Verbena Linn is a lifestyle brand focused on fragrance and bathing products. Mountain Soil was commissioned by the client to design the first offline experience shop for Verbena Linn. 

This project is located in Yiwu City, Zhejiang Province. The overall indoor area is 102 square meters, and the main body of the building is a concrete frame structure. We divided the space into two sections, product display and user experience, along a continuous curved centerline, incorporating key elements of the brand.

In terms of spatial ambience, we see the product display area as an inner courtyard where we can walk, linger and feel. The contrast between the textured garden stones and the irregularly cut marble tiles frames the main island display area.

A weightless-material element— transparent acrylic decorative display shelf was introduced inside the island. This stand connects the ceiling and the ground, forming a new oblique parallel  with the hanging display of the same material next to the window.

The use of transparent materials, on the one hand, neutralizes the visual pressure brought to people because of the high-level exhibition area, and on the other hand, it balances the rhythm of the interior space, better integrating the differences between varied materials, structures and functions.

The user experience area resembles a pavilion, where we can rest, chat and read. In the selection of textures, we paid particular attention to expressing the nature of materials, and used wood as the main surface coating to generate a tender mood. The stretch ceiling echoes the display tables and highlights the center of the area through a simple static geometric construction.
