An imperfect home in Hong Kong, remodelled by local Design studio NC Design. NC Design looks to wabi-sabi, Japan, an ancient philosophy that embraces the ephemeral and imperfect and glorifies natural objects and processes.
NC Design&Architecture used a series of naturally defective materials in the apartment, which were designed in accordance with the concept of wabi-sabi in Japan. This is achieved through the use of natural materials such as wood and marble, as well as "imperfect" finishes such as oxidized bronze and textured gypsum.
“"The house inspires an acceptance of not being transient and imperfect, liberating the residents from their daily lives," said Nelson Chow, the studio's founder.
