Inspired by the art studios of great modernist painters and sculptors such as Picasso, Matisse and Brancusi, Dulong's new flagship store is a space that blends home, art making and work display in a warm, personal and creative atmosphere.
Building on the identity of the jewelry brand's existing design pieces, which are timeless and exclusive, the interior concept evolves into an interpretation that becomes a peaceful, soft and welcoming space. Norm Architects uses real, natural materials that, over time, create an organic warmth that is relevant to the client's brand experience. The craftsmanship of the jewellery design is further demonstrated by the careful choice of finishes and the elegant feminine balance of tones.
Along the entire back wall of the store stands a colonnade inspired by The neoclassical architecture of Copenhagen. The repeated niches between them create intimate Spaces where platforms alone display beautiful artwork on jewels and pure travertine. When a customer tries on a piece of jewelry, he can enter a more private area of the store, giving him the opportunity to fully immerse himself in the experience and allow creativity to unfold.
With a sustainable and tactile design approach in mind, the architects retained the ancient oak parquet flooring and gave the walls and ceiling a realistic clay surface to create an original base. Counters, sideboards, coffee tables, platforms and art collections are designed specifically for the store, allowing jewelry to be combined with other handmade items and custom designs.
The store's simple, open space is broken up by several existing cast-iron columns, creating a sense of luxury and calm and becoming a hybrid space. Here, some homely, warmth-related feelings are blended with jewelry and art, allowing customers to look forward to ever-changing exhibitions and social events.
