Nestled in the Adelaide Hills, this vibrant working farmhouse is a new build brimming with personality. Grounded in the spirit of the local countryside and the dynamism of the contemporary, it blends clean lines, rich hues, and natural materials to create a luxe sophistication for relaxed living.

The client’s brief for this country retreat was for a family home that would be supremely comfortable for farm life but also elegant for entertaining and hosting large family get-togethers. Extensive in scope, the project comprised the selection of lighting, finishes, furniture, sculptural objects and accessories to furnish this five bedroom residence.

A masculine moody palette of black timber panelling, textured ceramic tiles and crisp white stone complements the clean architectural lines and sandstone clad walls. Deep hues such as olives, navy and teals were used in the furnishings to create a sense of sophistication and connection to the landscape. Natural materials such as thick textured wool rugs, linens and tan leather add layer and warmth to the space. Oversized lighting uses scale and repetition to create sculptural forms to activate the four-meter high ceiling and expansive space.
