Located on a sloping site in Dollis Hill, north London, this beautifully minimalist house is designed by architecture studio Thomas McBrien.A very calm and relaxed daily space, where the main characters are lightly washed oak joinery elements mixed with natural stone countertops and mortar washed bricks.
Inside the house, Thomas McBrien recommends the use of full-height oak joinery throughout, where deep seating inserts provide a comfortable, sheltered enclosure that is ideal for reading and relaxation. The seats extend along the side wall and into the open window, providing a window seat with direct views of the back garden.
This project is a warm minimalist definition. The bright oak joinery blends perfectly with the architecture of the house, giving an elegant sense of calm and comfort.
