Orommarr Cafe
As you slowly walk up along the stone wall from the bottom of the hill, a cafe appears next to a lush forest on top of a pile of stones.
Located on a small hill between the sea and the mountains of Jeju Island, the cafe 'Orommar' has the meaning of 'mountain' in the Jeju language. As you slowly walk up along the stone wall from the bottom of the hill, a cafe appears next to a lush forest on top of a pile of stones. Z_Lab hoped that people who visit this space will be able to meet Jeju's nature up close and enjoy the complete relaxation while looking at it.
The building was designed to become a background in harmony with nature by adding the colors and rough textures of Jeju's red stones and the setting sun to its neat shape. Although it is a single-story building, the space is divided by placing a step difference on the floor by taking advantage of its location on a gentle slope. By adding motifs from volcanic stones, the sea, and primeval forests to the scenery seen through large and small windows, it was planned to feel the various textures of Jeju wherever the eyes touched.
Furniture and lighting that fit the space, such as low chairs and tables, were also designed so that the gaze toward the nature outside is not disturbed. Z_Lab wanted to add a special experience by holding a pencil in my hand, writing an order, handing it over, and sitting in the poet's library to write. The roof, which can be approached close to the edge of a small forest, is designed to be a space where you can see Hallasan Mountain and the sea in the distance.
