Located in a forest on the outskirts of Gangwon, South Korea, is a hotel villa designed by local architecture firm 100A Associates. This hotel villa never tries to embrace nature or accommodate it.The user can enjoy the solitary traveler's time in the space, while having a rich interaction with the land.
The building with low and long concrete structure, which is cut off from the outside, serves as the boundary of time to erase all sharp and unpleasant things before entering the space. The red path that goes deeply along the building allows users to enter the space through an undecorated bright and spacious yard, and open the red gate to come into their own inner spaces in the forest.
The space is mainly composed of the master's space and the guest's two rooms. The interior Spaces open towards the forest are completely integrated into the serenity of the forest. It reflects the physical properties of the carefully designed wood, allowing visitors to enter the space to focus on their communication with nature. The energy of the red wood contrasts with the building envelope and becomes a lyrical space, projecting the time of the forest.
