Kora Home is a love letter to slow living—an oceanfront sanctuary where raw, natural, and indigenous design meets the easy rhythm of coastal life. The name Kora, drawn from Sanskrit, speaks to purity, sustainability, and an untouched beauty—values that shaped every detail of the home.

Originally envisioned by Chitale and Son in a pavilion-style layout, the architecture flows seamlessly into the horizon, framing the sea as the true protagonist. Amrita Thomas of Alara Studio reimagined the interiors to be both soulful and sophisticated, curating over 20 exceptional Indian designers and makers—each bringing their own craft, story, and sensibility into the space.

From emerging artisans to master furniture makers, the home came together as a symphony of conscious design—ethically sourced, material-driven, and rich with intention. Wabi-sabi restraint meets tactile luxury: handwoven cane, coastal-washed lime plaster, sculptural lighting that recalls marine life, and bespoke pieces that anchor each room without overpowering its openness.

Every corner embraces the idea that luxury can be slow, rooted, and deeply human. The pool deck, outdoor lounge, and vast living spaces dissolve into the landscape, allowing light, salt air, and the sound of waves to become part of the architecture. Inside, textures take precedence over ornamentation, and the design unfolds like a quiet dialogue between modern refinement and indigenous craft.

“Kora Home came together with incredible local talent—artisans, lighting designers, and furniture makers, both emerging and established. Ethically sourced, rich with soul, and effortlessly chic, it reflects my clients’ shared passion for supporting design with purpose. Seeing over 20 distinct brands come together under one roof, each with its own story yet blending in perfect harmony, was truly special.” — Amrita Thomas
