Hong Kong-based architect Andre Fu has gained a lot of attention in recent years, managing major hotels such as Fullerton Bay in Singapore and The Upper House in Hong Kong. His first foray into Europe appears to have been in collaboration with London's Berkeley Hotel, where the designer designed the new super-suite Opus.
Andre's concept was to create true living Spaces -- architecturally styled and decorated with simple and beautiful details -- which meant that Opus Suites would offer the best luxury experience for travelers worldwide.
With views of Hyde Park and Knightsbridge, the new suite also boasts a living space, kitchen, dining room, two bedrooms and two bathrooms, including a 300-square-foot master bathroom covered entirely in solid marble. It uses bamboo and limestone surfaces, offsetting bronze tones in a muted palette of green and mushroom hues that are understated and indulgent.
Andre Fu's interior design creates a sense of calm and balance visually. There is a symmetry in his work that is not just for decoration; He likes to let guests experience an emotional connection to the space they're in. The custom furniture and artwork, hand-selected with the help of Andre Fu's Hong Kong art consultants, are designed to add elegance to the surroundings.
