Breathing new life into this 80s building, Echlin has created eight rooftop and penthouse apartments by developing the airspace and elevating the communal areas of the rest of the building for existing inhabitants. 50 Oakley Square epitomises Echlin’s signature contemporary elegance, thoughtfulness, and warmth.
Camden, London – Forward-thinking architectural, development and design studio, Echlin, is proud to launch eight carefully-crafted rooftop apartments that blend modern elegance with the dynamic energy of central London.
Cleverly utilising airspace on top of an existing 1980s apartment block, these serene residences – all with generous private terraces or Juliet balconies - are distinguished by maximised space and storage, a calming palette of natural materials, an abundance of natural light, and views over the trees of the neighbouring park and characterful rooftops of Camden.
Echlin’s architectural palette imbues a sense of calm throughout. A muted, warm white colour has been chosen for all walls and ceilings, combined with complementary lacquer for the kitchens and joinery, and a pale, but warm, oak flooring throughout. This oak is continued in the kitchen details, full-height bespoke timber veneer built-in wardrobes and the shelving in the bedrooms.
Echlin’s meticulous consideration to making the most of space and light comes to the fore in the apartments’ varying layouts – each slightly different to ensure this. To celebrate the launch of the completed apartment scheme, Echlin has designed a two-bedroom display apartment with a curated collection of contemporary furniture, vintage finds and artisanal pieces.
