© 粤ICP备19077098号The project for an apartment located in the Chamartín neighborhood of Madrid. The property is a duplex penthouse within a stunning building from the 1960s, which still preserves many of its original elements, giving it a unique character.
The penthouse spans approximately 400 square meters, distributed over two floors. On the ground floor, there is an entrance hall, from which a staircase leads to the upper level. This floor also features an open-plan living room, dining room, and kitchen, as well as a guest bedroom with an ensuite bathroom, a master suite with an integrated bathroom and dressing room, and two bedrooms that share a bathroom. Additionally, there are three terraces: one large one off the living room, and two smaller ones by the master bedroom and entrance.
The upper floor is designed as a continuous, multifunctional space centered around a piece of furniture that combines a bookshelf and a kitchen. This level includes a fireplace area, a built-in sofa that serves as a home cinema, a dining area for family gatherings with an integrated kitchen, an office (which can be opened or closed), a small gym, and a foosball area.
TThe project involved a complete space redistribution. The apartment had previously undergone a renovation in the 1990s, which introduced excessive compartmentalization, with elements such as fake fireplaces, heavy moldings, and even a bricked-up window. In contrast, our approach was to simplify and streamline the lines and materials. We sought to respect the building’s original character, removing the baroque elements that clashed with the property’s essence and opted for a clean, neutral intervention with a contemporary touch. Our goal was to create visual and aesthetic continuity from the building’s common areas to the apartment interior, maintaining minimal contrast and ensuring a clean and harmonious design.
In this project, we continued our philosophy of blending contemporary designs with vintage pieces, which we believe adds character and personality to the spaces. Some key items come from our own brand. A standout piece is the vintage foosball table. This project reflects our commitment to creating unique, personalized spaces where the original architecture and contemporary design coexist harmoniously.
