Clay’s "Second Arrival": This is very interesting-I had no hope for clay in high school, but it was different when I found it in college. I knew then that this was something I wanted to do forever. I was honored to hear the courses of different tutors during the university, from Kyra Cane, Mo Jupp to Grayson Perry, Kate Malone, Joanna Constantinidis and Edmund de Waal, etc., I absorbed their essence, like a sponge!
Georgie creates distinctive vessels and bowls on her potters wheel. Each piece is unique,
the decoration is cut from paper by hand and applied to the leather hard clay before brushing on layers of colour. The paper is peeled away to reveal the bold graphic motifs before firing.
Georgie loves the sensuality of making pots on the wheel - starting with a shapeless lump of clay, centering and pulling up till it becomes a full bodied pot is very satisfying - she never tire of doing that.work explores a harmony between surface, form and pattern.
