Hostage-client photographer Lauren Bamford and musician Keith Mason have redefined Australian aesthetics through skilful contemporary lenses, and together with Hearth Architecture, Slow Beam, a residential project that celebrates Australian art and design, has been curated to make it a reality. The owner's personal style, as well as the architectural execution of the design creates a modern style connection; A style of communication between the environment and local talent; A style that is visually pleasing.
In a rugged jungle setting of lush greenery, the shell of the building is deliberately set to be light in a way that blends into the landscape while also making a statement. From a close point of view, the interior fragments and bold colors and patterns offer an element of intrigue and seduction from afar. Built by Delpero Clements, Slow Beam is designed as a two-storey house with views from the Derwent River to the far reaches.
Throughout, the intensity and level of detail curation is enviable, as heralded contemporary Australian designers and artists come together to present a shining piece of work. The artwork and design itself is a rare and very unique offering, but it is through the experiential finishing approach that helps define Slow Beam as something truly special. The design of the bespoke carpet in the living room plays a key role in weaving all the elements together, while the understated kitchen and bright and strongly contrasting hues demonstrate a confident and bold personality.
