Le Jardinier

In New York, Manhattan, in a residential skyscraper from Norman Forster, recently opened the French restaurant Le Jardinier, in which Michelin-based chef Alain Verzeroli is in charge of fresh seasonal cuisine with an emphasis on vegetables and herbs. And for the fresh interior, immersed in greenery and breathing peace and tranquility. This Restaurant is designed by Joseph Diran.

Le Jardinier is Diran's first work in New York, and the restaurant came out, on the one hand, ideally suited for Manhattan: concise, stylish, sustained in the very style of discreet luxury in which Diran is strong. But at the same time it is elusively Parisian, although without explicit references to the French style.

The name of the restaurant and the specialization of the fresh “green” kitchen prompted the decoration with an abundance of lively greenery and noble green marble, with which Diran loves to work and is so masterly drawn. Marble covered all the walls of the hall for 62 seats, they also laid the floor with a simple rhythmic pattern in black speck.

Huge floor-to-ceiling windows flood the restaurant hall with light, and numerous mirrors in the form of lath-screens and panels behind the bar multiply and crush this sunlight, scattering the space and green plants with soft highlights. Mirror slats echo the white slats, blinds on the windows.
