Katharina Klug was born in Austria and was exposed to ceramics from an early age. her mother, Anna Maria, still makes and operates pottery in The village of Stanz, so he was influenced by her from an early age. After six years of professional training at universities in Austria and Germany, she started her ceramics business in 2011 and won a silver award in the ceramics category from Craft & Design magazine.
Klug's works focus on narrative, which is derived from the fragments of life in the environment, she can find the lines she wants through the observation of life, such as stripes on cloth, wires and cables, plants and grass, buildings and streets, etc. Based on the glazes he developed over the years, Klug created high-contrast pieces. Black and white, monochrome and color, smooth and matte are at the heart of her work.
Katharina Klug‘s goal is to create timeless containers for contemporary interior design. Each piece is individually made from porcelain on a pottery wheel. Each line is hand-drawn to preserve the moment of production. Her inspiration generally comes from the basic colors and shapes of ancient Korean pottery, and the imperfections in the patterns make her works lively, rough, direct and unique, but still maintain the order or direction that ties them together.
