Villa Boo Salthamn

Can you save energy and at the same time live in a more contrast-rich home? Villa Boo lacks conventional rooms such as living room, kitchen, bedroom, etc. Villa Boo is based on being able to be social, but also on being able to be private in your home.

The home also has well-developed conservatories, especially rooms connected to the kitchen and bathroom. The living space is reduced and the interior and exterior rooms are given equal importance. All rooms have a strong visual, but also physical connection further out and mutually they also have a visual and physical connection to other rooms. Villa Boo has 95 sqm of insulated area that is heated all year round, in addition there are about 20 sqm guest houses that are heated occasionally and about 200 sqm developed conservatories.

The different functions in the home have different temperate zones, depending on the activity in the room. Zone 1 is the entrance, which like many older Swedish houses in the countryside, can be closed from other rooms and prevent hot air from going straight into the winter cold. Zone 2 is the social part with kitchen and living room, which in the extension has an outdoor kitchen with source sorting, barbecue area, sink and electrical outlet. Zone 2 can be heated to about 20 degrees, but can get hotter when you fire in the fireplace or get heat from the kitchen.

Zone 3 is the private part with space for sleep and work, and can be heated to about 15-17 degrees. On top of the functional back with wardrobe and technology, there are guest beds with space for four, temporarily overnight guests. The space is what is needed to spend the night, but the experience is great. Through the glass lantern you can see the starry sky. Zone 4 is the bathroom that is heated to eg 25 degrees. The bathroom also has an outside part with outdoor shower and wooden bench to rest on. Zone 5 is a guest house that is heated only when you have guests who stay a little longer.

Villa Boo has materials that can withstand wear and tear and become more beautiful the older the house gets. Limestone floors, wood and in some places wall panels of Gotland wool, developed from lomakka.
