Punta Ixtapa located in Zihuatanejo's Ixtapa, Manuel Cervantes Estudio takes full advantage of the original conditions of the site, including topography, landscape, vegetation, wind direction and sunlight. By analyzing and considering each element, A series of Spaces directly connected with the exterior are connected in series according to the logic of the building, forming the final spatial form.
The sun's height Angle was an important factor in determining the overall design. The special grated ceiling and cladding, in addition to providing privacy, also slides to create a comfortable shaded space and keep the room temperature constant. The living Spaces of the house connect to each other to form a multifunctional space, which is enhanced by a swimming pool and a terrace that integrates the aesthetics of the building with the site.
The main area of the house and coexistence visually extends to the sea, the warm climate of the region allows to open the spaces and do without enclosures in this area, which allows to enjoy the open air and the vegetation that surrounds / frames it; this space is achieved by a metal structure and wood that make up a pergola, which gives it warmth and integrates an aesthetic with the place. The various sunken rooms generated with the topography of the place create different environments related to each other with the environment.
The architectural program consists of a social area, which integrates the living room, dining room and sunken spaces as a multipurpose space that allows interaction between them. The bedroom area has a terrace protected with vegetation to generate privacy; the main bedroom, as well as the bathroom / dressing room, have an ocean view, which reinforces the feeling of an "extroverted, open to the climate" house.
