Philip Treacy
I make hats because I love hats. It's an enigmatic object that serves the human purpose only of beautification and embellishment, and making one feel good, whether you’re the observer of the spectacle or the wearer.
Philip Treacy is one of Britain's foremost milliners, originally from County Galway in Ireland. Treacy has won British Accessory Designer of the Year award five times and during his acclaimed career, he has worked with design houses Chanel, Versace, Valentino, Thierry Mugler, Rifat Ozbek, Alexander McQueen and Givenchy.
Exquisite handcrafted sculptural masterpieces showcase the fantastical imagination of this quietly spoken Irishman who, for over 25 years has created couture hats that draw admiration and surprise in equal measure and transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary. Philip Treacy has been rewarded with an honorary OBE granted by His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales in 2007 for his service to the British fashion industry.
Philip Treacy uses fashion runway shows around the world as a platform to inspire and challenge perceptions of hats. Clients include the Duchess of Cornwall, Lady Gaga, Grace Jones, Madonna and Kate Moss. Philip Treacy has become the world's most in demand hat designer. His hats are as popular with European aristocrats as with Hollywood royalty. Widely credited for changing the perception of the hat, he designs hats to flatter and enhance the wearer.
