Scott Mitchell has completed a landscaped house in Malibu, California. Thirteen buildings are scattered on a pristine seven-acre ranch on the coast between the Malibu Mountains and the Pacific Ocean. Each was built in the footprint of the building they replaced, and the house was designed at a 45-degree Angle to maximize views of the ocean. Burned or bleached cedar siding, shingles and shallow pitched roofs are employed throughout the estate. 

The living room juts out to the right of the foyer, where folding glass sliders on three sides turn it into an airy porch. On the left is a spacious kitchen. Stairs lead to the master suite and guest bedrooms on the second floor. A pair of barns were rebuilt to house a car collection and a swimming pool study on the axis, with two guest rooms supporting the projection room.
