The owners recently returned to Melbourne after years abroad, intending to spend quality time with their adult children under the same roof before becoming empty nesters. They wanted their new home to be both comfortable and attractive, but also to serve as a permanent repository for the unique items they collected during their travels.

Simone Haag was commissioned to redesign the informal living room, foyer and master bedroom. A series of furniture pieces are assembled according to the hues defined by the client to create unexpected moments for this home. It includes a unique mix of antiques, second-hand and new items and includes a restored Italian bookcase. Despite using rustic tones, Simone Haag managed to create a series of complex and accessible textured Spaces.

Simone's heart takes every project seriously, so everything on The Whiskey Room is unique and works well together, which is Simone's genius. She was able to put so many elements together in a way that was definitely not cookie-cutter, and ultimately her work was definitely original.
