Georgia Ezra, founder of Studio Ezra, a multidisciplinary interior design firm in Melbourne, Australia, has renovated her home in Melbourne. When she and her husband Richard Morris first saw this Spanish Mission style home in Caulfield, they knew they could create their dream family home here.Georgia Ezra purchased this Spanish Mission-style home in September 2018, Just a year later, through careful layering of textures, natural materials and furnishings, Georgia and Richard have transformed the home into a serene, Mediterranean-inspired family residence.
The previous owners had lived in the property for 40 years, and over that time extended the home for their growing family, as well as pouring much love into the garden – leaving Georgia and family with established olive, mandarin and mulberry trees. But the layout of the home didn’t suit the new owner’s needs, so Georgia and Richard embarked upon a renovation and completely gutted and redesigned the entire home.
Georgia Ezra's idea was to create a quiet environment, emphasizing that many elements of the house are customized. The sleek corridor arches, textiles from Mexico to Morocco, and intricate tiles throughout bathrooms, kitchens and fireplaces all embody a unique design aesthetic that blends high quality with modern design ideas.
