Marram Hotel

Located in long island, New York on the south bank of montauk Marram Hotel due to influence of the surrounding landscape of sand color and texture, by Tack studio and Bridgeton companies work together to its renovation.

Marram, which is named after the wild grass that grows on the property's sand dunes, has 96 guest rooms, a cafe that serves South American cuisine and a freshwater pool overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. "Marram has both an innate and intimate sense of place that evokes the spirit of its natural, untouched landscape," said the design team, led Atit Jariwala of Bridgeton.

The whole space in Marram Hotel adopts a soft tone, imitating the soft hints of the nature around. The walls of the lobby are "unfinished", exposing uninsulated white oak panels, a cyan check-in desk and a work by Rhode Island artist Sean Spellman as the focal point of the entry space.

The ceiling of the guest room is made up of intersecting white oak beams, while the concrete floor is covered with hand-textured plaster and hand-woven jute rugs. The furniture is white and sandy and is made from recycled wood all at once. The nightstand and stool are made from solid Suar wood recovered from the old house and fishing boats, creating a space reminiscent of the comfortable guest room of a seaside summer cottage.
