At the forefront of Vestigare, Luiza Giurni, a young entrepreneur who started her own business at just 20 years old, is revolutionizing the way architecture is communicated in Brazil and around the world.
From an early age, her gaze was shaped by photography. At seven years old, she received her first analog camera — a gift from her grandfather that became an extension of her body and her thought. She photographed everything: everyday details, silences, movements, family gatherings. For her, photography was never about technical mastery. It was, and still is, an act of experimentation and investigation — intuitive, sensitive, almost visceral. Rather than rationalizing, she photographs what feels powerful, what provokes her, what carries an intensity that cannot be ignored. Photography, for her, is not craft but perception: a way of experiencing the world and unveiling the invisible. She still works with analog cameras, reinforcing this process as a tactile and instinctive exploration.
Over time, this practice has become her language: a way of approaching the world, of merging architecture with sensibility, of translating atmospheres and perceptions into images. The camera has always been her first tool of investigation; even before words, it was the image that taught Luiza how to think, feel, and communicate.
She lived in more than twelve Brazilian cities, an experience that sparked a deep curiosity for the roots of architecture and the stories embedded in urban spaces. This fascination with different realities and landscapes became the thread that, during her undergraduate studies, led Luiza to immerse herself in academic research, readings, and architectural theory, bringing in references that deeply inspired her journey. Her passion for knowledge took her to study architecture and design at the University of Bologna in Italy, where she confirmed that her ambition went beyond designing. What truly drove her was the desire to communicate architecture — to translate the impact and essence of each project into words and images, making the beauty and depth of architecture accessible to a broader audience.
This unique vision of uniting architecture and communication was the seed of Vestigare. In 2021, Luiza began publishing architectural images and references that were initially part of her academic research. The profile quickly gained traction, attracting the attention of renowned architects and studios around the world. What began as a simple collection of inspirations soon evolved into a robust architectural communication project.
Still as a student, Luiza found herself managing a platform that rapidly reached a wide audience of followers, including renowned professionals such as Snohetta, Marcio Kogan, and Richard Meier. At only 20 years old, she was internationally recognized as a reference in the curation and dissemination of projects. “The most interesting thing is that I never imagined Vestigare would grow this way. I started by posting projects that I saw potential in, and suddenly I was in conversation with architects I had always admired,” says Luiza.
Gradually, with the understanding of marketing derived from Vestigare’s wide reach, another branch of Vestigare emerged: Vestigare Agency, a support network for Brazilian architects. Today, Vestigare is a space where photography, design, and art converge, with Luiza and her team creating strategic content that not only promotes projects but also sparks reflection and dialogue about the impact of architecture on cities and people’s lives. This evolution gave rise to Vestigare Agency, the first Brazilian media and communication agency dedicated exclusively to architects. “Architecture deserves to be communicated with the same intensity and depth with which it was designed,” she emphasizes. From architect to architect, Luiza directs art, branding, and content creation, tailored specifically for the architectural field.
Luiza quickly stood out in a field historically dominated by men and, as a young woman, challenged the industry’s traditional standards. “Being a young female entrepreneur in such a demanding field is a tremendous responsibility. Many don’t expect you to have a voice, or to be taken seriously because you’re a woman and young — especially in a discipline like architecture, which traditionally places more experienced leaders at the center of decision-making. I had to prove my worth many times, but it also gave me the chance to bring a new perspective, something I believe is essential to redefining how we see and talk about architecture,” reflects Luiza.
This innovative perspective was key to earning the respect of leading architecture and design studios. Today, Vestigare and Vestigare Agency collaborate with renowned names such as Felipe Hess Arquitetos, AR Arquitetos, MNMA Studio, Ohtake, Saag Arquitetura, and Hueb Ferreira, among others.
“Being young and a woman in architecture brings challenges, but it also offers the opportunity for renewal. I see it as a chance to reshape the way architecture is communicated,” she highlights.
With Vestigare Agency, Luiza Giurni has become one of the most promising voices of contemporary architecture, transforming the way architectural projects are shared and experienced.
