During the period of school, Viv interested in feminist spirit and philosophy, think that the body is prove the existence of the importance of human itself, and want to find a connection with the natural material, studied at art college, she became her spiritual practice clay, so most of her vessel only at the inspiration of the human body, such as feet, neck, blood vessels, etc.
At the same time, she loves the local landscape of Scotland, and enjoys discovering the unique colors and textures of nature as materials for making utensils. It was also influenced by the Japanese aesthetics of wabi-sabi, Subject to the imperfection of natural ecology,exploring the diversity of nature and the human body. She hopes one day to make a series of works out of wild clays from all over Scotland, and to develop glazes using local natural materials.
