A Korean cosmetic brand, Innisfree opens its new concept store,“The Isle”. The store aims to offer an experience through brand’s product and its own curated beverage and food in a cafe setting.
As the concept of The Isle, the brand’s imaginary island, begins with realizing there is no flat plane in islands of our imagination. Within the complex of the project site, we laid a new level of floor throughout to create a unity. Then, island’s contour lines are reinterpreted into different raised levels, that are developed into platforms, sittings and tables.
These planes are made with BACE (Byucksan Autoclaved Cement Extrusion) panels, which is originally designed for architectural facade. By using this relatively robust material for interior finish, we wanted to evoke of outdoor nature.
