For me, spatial design comes from observing and exploring life, and should be a materialization and expression of the inner world of the occupants. I have been involved in the entire process of designing and constructing this space from beginning to end, and there is no doubt that from imagining the drawings to presenting everything in front of me, I feel like I have experienced some kind of spiritual journey. I try to express the surprise that this spatial work brings me in words, and always find that the function of language in refining, summarizing, and summarizing is excellent in depicting a beautiful and flawless modern handicraft. However, when facing a non-standard work that folds the sedimentation of time, family memories, and emotions, language may need to step back, and intuitive feelings and experiences are the true solution.--Mr. Xie

We mentioned the continuation of the residential part of this project in the previous chapter and within the gallery space. The two spaces are actually presented on the same floor, which is more flexible compared to pure residential standardized units. It is entirely possible to consider space layout based on one's own preferences and functional needs, and the integrated lifestyle of work and residence is manifested here. Traditionally, the living room did not appear in this project because Mr. Xie's "study room" and "andwithin gallery" served as public leisure and reception functions, thus only retaining two bedrooms, a housekeeping room, and an open kitchen function.

There are two steps leading to the bedroom area, and a large off-axis door opens. A set of aluminum handles has been specially customized for the owner, maintaining a unique warmth even in the cold winter days. Every touch feels like a silent conversation with it. The master bedroom floor plan considers dual flow paths to meet the different living habits and paths of male and female owners. The bathroom and the nearly 12 meter long dressing room occupy more than half of the space in the master bedroom, meeting the unique needs of the hostess as a fashion creative worker. I think this is also the biggest change in the living scene of special groups nowadays. The traditional capacity for clothing and hats is no longer sufficient to meet the container needs of modern life. This also brings new thinking and challenges to our design.

In the design thinking of Shuidingji, time does not flow nonlinearly, but can be folded and reshaped. To minimize urban noise and the strong light impact of large flat and oversized glass, solid wood louvers are added to the curtain wall glass. A cup of coffee in the morning, sitting by the window with the folded light and shadow of the blinds, time flies back and forth, as if time is still at this moment. We ingeniously integrated the gallery with the living area, folding two different functions through the long corridor, but parallel to one carrier at the same time. Time flows freely between work and life, and changes scenes between doors of different textures. A historic old wooden beam has been specially left at the corner of the restaurant's rest area, which emotionally links the spirit of the gallery. We have always believed that classic designs can last forever.

We abandon extravagance and pursue timeless textures. Choosing a strong texture combination of black gray pine bark, as well as the simplicity of beige and gray purple texture coatings, the coldness of purple copper, customized grass gray green handmade bricks, aluminum door handles, etc., the collision between different materials creates a rich visual experience and touch, which is another practice of materials science by Shuidingji. On the principle of selecting classic furniture, few and refined, we carefully selected the medieval and contemporary designs with the owners, and we designed White Marble tables for this project, inspired by the simple shape of ancient Chinese white porcelain vessels, and integrated with the collected white medieval chairs.

Function is the cornerstone of design. In this parallel space, every corner is endowed with practical value. Large capacity concealed storage space, movable partition doors, multifunctional sideboard cabinets, bedroom mini bar cabinets, etc., and a super sized dressing room of up to 10M.

In public areas, you can vaguely see semi transparent cloakroom boxes with glass bricks as walls. As the night lights slowly rise, they resemble the facades of tiny buildings. Home is the container of life and also the dwelling place of the spirit. A cup of coffee, a book, a piece of music, are all expressions of the flavor of life and also explorations of one's inner self. And for the second time, we have integrated the concept of "work residence integration" into it, creating a private space that can inspire inspiration and soothe the soul. Shuidingji, in the name of life, creates a time folding place and a classic and timeless home for creative workers. Here, it carries the owner's love for life, pursuit of art, and infinite exploration of self-worth.
