Fireplaces are fueled by fuelwood and have the most intimate conversation with the billet. The fire uses light as a pen to awaken the temperature of space under the fiery caress of a blazing flame. People snuggle comfortably by the fire, and the night's rice paper spreads out a vague verse. A fireplace is a symbol of openness and warmth, providing us with a place of refuge and a source of love.

Founded in 2012, Moloney Fireplace has been committed to delivering a pure lifestyle for many years, activating the space atmosphere with finely designed fireplace products, inviting domestic TOP designers to set up live fireplace culture experience halls in Shanghai, Beijing, Hangzhou, Suzhou, Chengdu, Chongqing, more than just an appreciation of art, design and fireplace experience. We are honored that with the support and recognition of Moloney Fireplace, Like-Minded Design undertook and landed the Burn like weaving flame·MOLONEY in FANMATE CREATIVE ART AREA Chengdu in March 2022. Xuntong Space attempted to challenge a different design approach, by integrating each exhibit with the space, the final result is a set of “non-showroom showrooms”.

How to better integrate each uniquely styled fireplace product into the space, perfectly resolving the relationships between objects and between objects and people within the space, is the core of our design philosophy. The space is restrained, while the product is bold. The fireplace serves as a sanctuary for modern living, where those gathered around it can experience warmth on both a literal and metaphorical level. — Kong Deyang, the design director of this project.

In the days that followed, the design of the Moroni Fireplace Chengdu Showroom went on to win numerous domestic and international design awards. As a result, we were honored to gain further trust from the client, and the design of the new Moroni Fireplace flagship showroom in Beijing was also entrusted to Xuntong Space. was completed and unveiled in 2025.

The architecture seems to be frozen in a musical composition, with large-scale metal profiles arranged like stage curtains, creating a rhythm of alternating patterns. The resulting structure conceals a brilliant light in its mysterious depths, emphasizing a delicate visual texture. Placed in the shade of pine and cypress trees, it contrasts with the wooden tones of the courtyard, highlighting the natural mystery and tranquility and creating a sense of aesthetic tension. The smooth, fine microcement seamlessly blends with the rugged texture of natural stone paint, creating a unique backdrop that highlights the products. The central freestanding fireplace serves as a natural focal point, while the open layout encourages visitors to linger and engage. The design avoids forced interventions, instead relying on the most intuitive interactions to maintain visual continuity throughout the exhibition space. This subtle approach guides visitors into exploring the next area.

The restrained yet abundant spatial order allows light to flow between sparse and dense, empty and solid spaces, transforming the space from a cold display into a place of contemplation. The balance between white space and the texture of wood creates a subtle harmony, flowing seamlessly into a work of art that invites people to wander and immerse themselves in it. Transitions and corners are illuminated by distant, restrained light sources, naturally creating rich textures through the interplay of light and shadow. Standing within this space, one can sense the warmth of the fireplace gradually spreading through the overlapping rays of light, while the quiet ripples of light spread out, bringing relaxation and warmth.

Rough natural elements intertwine with the modern, minimalist design of the fireplace, drawing inspiration from the rhythm of the space to embody the brand's resilience. The layout and circulation are meticulously organized, seamlessly integrating the void and solid elements within the space. Creative focal points and visual centers of the spatial interface come to life in this dynamic interplay of fire and design.

In the eyes of the philosopher Plato, the fireplace was a symbol of comfort and relaxation. In the poetry of Yeats, the fireplace was depicted as a charming refuge, where the flames of the spirit and fiery notes danced wildly in the space.“Natural revelation, orderly growth.” Using fire as a medium, this iconic art installation features a scarred aesthetic. The flickering flames of the bonfire kiss the wood, generating warmth and wildness, and the dancing flames infuse the building with the pure heat of life. Nothing in this world is perfect, just like beauty itself. The sense of elegance born from cracks gives things a unique personality and beauty, and warm symbols are transformed into unique entities that fulfill the designer's mission of interpretation.

When a quiet, evergreen sanctuary grows indoors, one can use all five senses to imagine a cup of cypress-scented tea. The fluttering skirt of the flame is adorned with lively bubbles clinging to the green fields and stone crevices. Stripped of unnecessary design, light and shadow dance along the walls and glass, blooming with primal beauty at the ridge of the roof.

The interplay of flames and the cool, metallic texture seems to whisper a story about materials, light, and form. The warmth of home and the depth of art blend seamlessly, transforming the exhibition space into a stage for exploring the aesthetics of daily life, guiding each visitor on a journey of imagination that delves into the subtle details of living spaces.
