A beer bar restaurant in Perth, Australia, designed by Australian interior design Studio YSG Studio. It was converted from an abandoned brick warehouse and is called Atomic Beer.
Existing grunge elements were retained and "spliced together with acidic colors, smooth plastics and shimmering metals," the studio explained. They describe the end result as a "multi-layered space, permeated by CBGB anarchy and pervaded by futuristic pan-Asian styles".
YSG Studio's design for the Atomic Beer project deftly captures Redfern's courage and unpolished creativity. The whole venue is brimming with nostalgia, while feeling like it's always been here, and at the same time full of futuristic elements -- a heady mix we can never get enough of.
