505W19,Exquisite and luxurious modernist works

Residential New York 2020-10-12

West Chelsea is one of the most dynamic neighborhoods in New York City: old-fashioned industrial buildings with forward-looking cultural creativity and a sense of history. Especially in recent years, a series of works by world architects are listed here, and they are considered to be Manhattan. The most cutting-edge community, a rather unique peaceful but exciting place to live. The High Line in West Chelsea has been transformed from a historic railway viaduct landmark into an advanced public park in the sky, making West Chelsea a mecca of art and progressive architecture. The 505W19 is located on the east and west sides of High Line Park. It covers an area of 11,426 square meters. It has two ten-story towers connected by the lobby. There are 35 units in total, 20 of which provide direct elevator access, including a duplex townhouse and three A unique penthouse, all of which have plenty of natural light. From the inside out, it was built by Thomas Juul-Hansen, Manhattan's hottest architect.
The space designed by Thomas combines modernism and the dynamic visual language of High Line. The 505w19 facade reflects the elegance of classic modernism while respecting the elevated park and surrounding historical buildings in terms of visual language. Slender gray limestone and custom casement windows form a distinctive grid exterior wall. The two 10-story towers are connected by an elevated park, seeming to float above the delicate glass and metal frame. The windows are opened at an ingenious angle to allow sunlight to penetrate to the maximum while protecting the privacy of residents. Many residences have amazing panoramic views of the Hudson River, Midtown and the downtown skyline.
Thomas emphasized that his architecture is "integration", combining the flow of people in High Line Park with the energy of residential residents. , The outdoor energy flows into the apartment, which helps to change the atmosphere inside the house.
