Camilla and Marc Armadale, a clothing brand based in Melbourne, Australia, designed by local interior design studio Akin Atelier. The studio has designed a series of soft, earthy Spaces for this latest retail store, reminiscent of caves and paradise.
What was once a terrace house on Armadale Street in southeast Melbourne now houses a thought-out tour of the space. Rough and raw materials are given a new sense of place and become a symbol of natural beauty. Inside the store, customers are immersed in a room crafted with striking peach-colored elements. The space draws in, with views drawn by three consecutive rooms, two-tone travertine floors and Marmorino custom colours for the walls. These four successive "living Spaces" are separated by a unique staircase geometry, creating a sense of physical transition.
The space draws in, with views drawn by three consecutive rooms, two-tone travereous floors and Marmorino's bespoke colours for the walls. Contrasting industrial steel suspension tracks create narrative lines along the walls. A rear skylight and large rectangular Windows widen the shop's gaps to let in sunlight -- in keeping with Camilla and Marc's long-standing values that their clothes can be viewed in natural light. A disposable pearl boragate covered counter acts as a sentinel leading to the next room.
