Waldorf Astoria Bangkok

Interiors Hotels Bangkok 2018-09-19

Located on Magnolias Ratchadamri Boulevard, the Waldorf Astoria Bangkok is the first Waldorf hotel in Southeast Asia. Built by MQDC, one of the most trusted developers in Thailand. Magnolias Ratchadamri Boulevard (MRB) is a carefully crafted mixed-use development that includes residences as well as the Waldorf Astoria Hotel.

The 242-metre-high 60-storey building stands out as a city landmark. The building's design was inspired by MQDC's brand LOGO, magnolia. The magnolia theme is tightly integrated into the structure of the building as well as a source of inspiration for the interior design. The overall hotel is typically pure and highly fluid in shape, very similar to the magnolia outline.

The public areas and guestrooms were created by Hong Kong-based architect Andre Fu of renowned design studio AFSO, while the top dining area was designed by New York-based design firm AvroKO. The design is full of modern flavor of the interior design, ultra-high space, traditional Thai elements, bronze decoration, full of spiritual details and other refreshing.

The hotel was inspired by Andre Fu's personal reflections on the many artisanal aspects of Thai culture, while incorporating these elements into his sensibility, evoking the quintessential Waldorf experience. In Andre Fu's interpretation of Thai culture, from the Outlines of Thai dance inside the building to dancing. The glass lanterns are reminiscent of Thailand's famous Lantern Festival. And was greatly inspired by the iconic Art Deco patterns found in the Waldorf Astoria property, and then juxtaposed these elements in the hotel's new expression.

From the lobby lounge to the rooftop lounge, the Waldorf Astoria Bangkok offers vibrant views of downtown Bangkok. The hotel has 171 rooms and suites, some of the largest in downtown Bangkok, with floor-to-ceiling Windows and quality services that make guests feel at home. Bull&Bear, on the 55th floor, specializes in grilled meats and seafood; The charming penthouse on the 56th floor serves cocktails inspired by the legendary Old Waldorf Astoria Bar Book; The hidden champagne bar on the 57th floor is perfect for intimate conversation -- all accompanied by dazzling city views. The hotel spa, with private care rooms, is suitable for individuals or couples, so that guests can enjoy the perfect physical and mental well-being. Swim in the outdoor infinity pool or work out at the hotel's 16th-floor fitness center overlooking Bangkok's booming city.

Andre Fu believes that creating the concept of hospitality is a prerequisite for designing for people, and comfort is also key. He has always believed in creating holistic spiritual experiences -- layers of elements that combine in order to evoke a sense of experience.
