French Lighting Designer Marie-Lise Féry's Home
French lighting designer Marie-Lise Fery has created a dramatic fantasy world that combines colors, patterns and whimsical shapes in a playful way. When she founded her lighting brand, Magic Circus Editions, in 2015, one of her inspirations was film director Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel.
Marie-lise Fery's home is a 19th-century house near Lyon. She uses clashing colors, sculptural shapes and a host of Magic Circus Editions designs to alter the austere elegance of the house. Her taste, she says, is inseparable from who she is. She wanted her home to be filled with joy, love, and joy.
For Fery, redecorating the house is a joy. At first, she was unimpressed with the collage layout, the result of a few small changes, so she knew she would have to rearrange the entire room. The house is surrounded by green leaves, and the view is beautiful when the light passes through them. She and her family knew right away they would love it because of the good vibes.
Fery took great pains to preserve original features such as fireplaces and parquet floors, and hired two of her longtime collaborators, Francis Juillard and Claude Cartier, to redesign her home. Claude Cartier's Furniture Showroom in Lyon showcases contemporary work by European designers, much loved by Fery, whose curiosity and her multiple design references bring her great passion for the selection of furniture.
