Emma Ware
We wear jewellery to be seen, to be heard, to be felt, as an extension of ourselves, letting the world know who we are.
A London based artist and designer with a background in fine and applied arts, Emma studied for a degree at Wimbledon School of Arts and a diploma in Broadcasting at Ravensbourne College. She went on to build a career in film and TV working in the camera department. Feeling an increasing need to have creative independence and for the love of making, Emma began her jewellery business.
Borne out of a desire to celebrate the human spirit, Emma Ware's visual artistry and individualistic approach to the concept of jewellery undoubtedly set her apart from her peers. Emma creates wearable art to empower and inspire using sustainable processes and materials: rubber, leather, recycled metals. Made by juxtaposing malleable dark rubber with polished metal, these are intricate sculptures that are framed and complimented by the body: reflecting our curves and angles to emphasize and celebrate the beauty in nature. Not only are these pieces unique, they grow from a sustainable, ethical perspective.
Emma Ware’s unique approach to jewellery design is born of a desire to celebrate the human spirit. Inspired by how a piece feels to wear and the curves and angles of the human body, this is adornment that appeals to the senses. Not limited to an idea of what jewellery‘should’be, the body becomes a playground for textures, geometry, patterns, all existing in conversation with the curve of a neck, shoulder or wrist; emphasizing, highlighting, tracing.
